Representatives from the Independent Games Festival (IGF) have announced the finalists in the sixth annual IGF competition. Selected by a panel of game industry professionals, game development teams will compete for more than $40,000 in cash prizes. The IGF was modelled after the Sundance Film Festival, with the aim of encouraging innovation in game development and to recognize the best independent game developers. A full list of the finalists in both the "Web/Downloadable Games" and "Open" categories can be found at www.igf.com. Winners will be announced at the Game Developers Choice Awards Ceremony on March 24, 2004 in San Jose, California. Finalists will exhibit their games at the GDC from March 24-26. The IGF is produced by the Gama Network, which also produces this site.
