Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Sony said today that it plans to integrate a rewritable DVD player into PS2 consoles sold in the Japanese market, and phase out the current PS2 model with its read-only DVD player.
The revamped PS2 will go on sale May 15, and will cost about 25,000 yen -- about 1,000 yen more than before. The new PS2 will read the DVD-R/-RW and DVD+R/+RW formats, but will not support DVD-RAM. No decision has been made whether to change out the DVD player on PS2s that are sold outside Japan.
