Austria-headquartered game developer and publisher JoWooD Productions Software AG has announced its financial results for the first 6 months of 2004, in a statement re-iterated from last month. According to the results, which JoWood described as 'stable', there was a 'group result after minorities' of 527,000 euros ($646,000 USD) from revenues of 6.9 million euros ($8.45 million USD). The company's German market share was 4.62%, up 1.25% from the previous year, largely due to the popularity of German titles such as SpellForce – The Breath of Winter, Transport Giant, and Söldner – Secret Wars, all top sellers in German territories. The company, which has development studios in Vienna and Ebensee (Austria) as well as wholly-owned studios Wings Simulations, Neon and Massive Development in Germany, 'still has its focus on the German-speaking countries, but at the same time is also concentrating on international growth.' JoWood has mapped out a goal for itself as 'the only German-speaking multi-platform publisher', and points to more traditional titles such as Gothic III, Spellforce II, The Guild II, and Hotel Giant II as leading the way for its 2005 releases. However, the company also seems to be creating a number of console properties, such as the Neon-developed PlayStation 2 action game Legend of Kay and a Stargate-licensed game from Australian developers Perception, which could also be competitive in English-speaking territories.
