Atlanta-headquartered Kaneva Inc. has announced the Kaneva Game Platform, a comprehensive solution designed for end-to-end MMO game development for First Person Shooter (FPS) and Role-playing Game (RPG) titles. According to the company, the Platform features cutting-edge 3D graphics capabilities while providing backend and networking features required for supporting hundreds of thousands of simultaneous players. Designed to combine best-of-breed MMOG technology, the Kaneva Game Platform is a fully integrated technology suite that includes a Client, Game Launcher, Kaneva Game Studio, Artificial Intelligence and Server components. The platform integrates typically disparate parts of game development and is designed to be open and extensible for maximum development flexibility, complete with Python and Lua scripting and a C/C++ SDK. Beyond its platform and publishing and online game services, Kaneva provides resources to further speed and ease game development including an Asset Marketplace for the buying and selling of assets used to make games including 3-D models, textures and sounds; extensive online and video tutorials and help; and an online Developers Corner where game creators can come together to share information, build their teams and download the latest third party tools. “Kaneva is breaking the mold and providing a viable alternative to traditional game development and publishing, where creativity and talent can reign without the requirement of massive budgets, huge teams or significant financial resources,” said Christopher Klaus, founder and CEO of Kaneva. Inc. “By providing the middleware, expertise and tools developers need combined with the comprehensive digital publishing, hosting and network management services required to run their MMO games and share them with a worldwide player base, we are enabling game developers to focus on what they do best, creating great games.”
