Kayak Interactive Merges with Synergenix Interactive

Kayak Interactive and Synergenix Interactive, both creators and distributors of mobile phone games, announced that they will be merging. Kayak Interactive will remain as the main identity, with Synergenix, particularly known as the creators of the Mophun mobile platform, shifted to a wholly owned subsidiary of Kayak. The new Kayak Interactive will distribute mobile phone games throughout the world, in North America, Europe, and Asia. Pooled together, the company will work with over forty carriers and channels as well as over ten handset manufacturers to distribute its product, developed by both in-house as well as external developers. The merger also helps to consolidate the two companies' standards; the mophun and Kayak Live services were created to work across different handsets and even software technologies such as Brew, Symbian, and Smartphone. Kayak Interactive will be headed up by Keith McCurdy, already President and CEO of the existing Kayak. Martin Forsling, Synergenix's present CEO, will serve as the new Kayak's Managing Director for Europe, and will remain as CEO of the Synergenix subsidiary. "Our two unique and sophisticated technology platforms give us a clear competitive advantage that will enable us to deliver compelling entertainment around the globe," said McCurdy.
