The sales charts in the UK have remained predictably static this week, with few new Christmas releases left to dislodge existing best sellers – most of which are, yet again, from Electronic Arts. Indeed the only new entry in the top ten this week is the criticially lambasted Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, which, presumably on the back of sales of the movie on DVD, has climbed eighteen places from its low entry in the top forty last week. The most interest news this week though is that sales figures in the UK have hit their highest mark this year, with over two million software sales and over £50 million ($87.7m) spent. Encouragingly this is over 5% more than at the same time last year.
