Interactive entertainment recruiting service Mary-Margaret.com has announced its online VIP competition for this year's Serious Games Summit D.C. (SGS D.C.) in association with the CMP Game Group (which also runs Serious Games Source and sister site Gamasutra). As co-sponsors of the SGS D.C. online VIP contest for the third year, Mary-Margaret.com will award one person the opportunity to attend the upcoming event. The winner will receive a prize package valued at $1,800 that includes two passes to the Serious Games Summit D.C., dinner for two at Chez Andrée, and a complimentary one-year subscription to Game Developer Magazine Digital Edition. Those interested can register for the contest on the official website. The deadline to enter is October 9th, 2006. SGS D.C., which will take place from Monday, October 30 through Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA, will include multiple sessions focusing on a wide variety of topics. The Summit's purpose is to provide a platform for game developers, buyers and industry professionals to exchange ideas and advance the state of the art of serious games development in areas such as corporate training, education, first responders, government, health, military, science, and social change. “With serious games gathering momentum, SGS D.C. provides those affiliated with institutions such as major corporations, government and military organizations, foundations, educators, and non-profits the opportunity to learn more about turning games into teaching tools,” said Robin McShaffry, vice president of operations for Mary-Margaret.com. “As past and present supporters of this event, Mary-Margaret.com has been witness to the incredible growth in this area of the gaming industry and is pleased to be helping contribute to its evolution by providing their clients with candidates who are furthering the development of new approaches in simulations, training, education and other practical applications.” For more information regarding Serious Games Summit DC 2006, interested parties can visit the event's official website.
