Maxon has kicked off the new year with the release of a free plugin that connects Cinema 4D to Alienbrain Studio -- the professional asset management system from NXN / Avid. The plugin allows the Cinema 4D user to work directly with an installed Alienbrain server. Automated read/write access management for scenes and textures, project history and difference checking are all available directly from within Cinema 4D, as are the Alienbrain tools for workflow and internal communication. The Alienbrain client gives the project manager a complete overview of the current project status. Previews are generated automatically; messages and instructions can be sent directly to the Cinema 4D artists working on the project. The free plugin is available for Windows only and requires Cinema 4D Release 9 or higher and Alienbrain Studio Version 7.1 or higher. It can be downloaded from Maxon's website.
