Game players are now being invited to vote for their favorite game/game characters and their creators, who are to be honored at a new 'Walk of Game' display at Sony's Metreon entertainment complex in San Francisco. The top four games and characters and the top two creators will be inducted into the 'Walk of Game' with a 24x24 inch brushed steel star. Creators nominated for the honor include Nolan Bushnell, Shigeru Miyamoto, Sid Meier, Will Wright and Yu Suzuki. Games and games characters nominated include Donkey Kong, Doom, Final Fantasy, Grand Theft Auto, Half-Life, Halo, Lara Croft, Link, Mario, Master Chief, Max Payne, Mortal Kombat, Ms. Pac-Man, Myst, Pac-Man, Parappa the Rapper, Pong, Resident Evil, Ryu (from Street Fighter), Sonic the Hedgehog, Tetris, Yorda (from ICO), and Zelda. More information, and the opportunity to cast a vote yourself, can be found at the website www.walkofgame.com. Gamers can vote until October 31st, and the winners in the two categories will be announced this November, with the actual ceremony to take place in early 2005.
