Singapore-based mobile developer and publisher Ozura has announced that the company's latest title, 2188 Space Wars, has launched. Specific carrier availability was not announced, although the announcement did note the game would be made available by "thousands of partners" in the US, UK, and China. 2188 Space Wars, a 2D, vertically-scrolling shooter, features five levels, with networked-enabled high scores keeping track of the best players worldwide. Ozura is a prolific developer, although to date has not seen a significant US presence. The company has covered multiple genres with mobile titles, including RPGs (Monkey King), racing (Desert Rider), and strategy (Robo Wars), among others. "We are proud to release this latest title which is guaranteed a soft spot with science fiction fans," said H. E. Mah, Ozura’s vice president of marketing. "The game simulates the thrill of flying in space armed with an arsenal of weaponry while attempting to save the universe. Now that this genre of game is available on mobile phones, players can take this immersive experience with them anywhere.”
