Serious games and learning resource developer Modality has released The Princeton Review: SAT Vocab Challenge for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch. The title is now available for download via the iTunes App Store. The Princeton Review: SAT Vocab Challenge tasks players with identifying the synonyms, antonyms, definitions, and connotations of 250 included vocabulary words. Each of SAT Vocab Challenge's included minigames use Princeton-approved SAT training methods in order to teach multiple-choice answer elimination skills. In the synonym, antonym, and definitions games, players will use the device's accelerometer and multitouch functionalities to either swipe or shake away incorrect answers while holding the correct answer in place. The connotation-focused minigame encourages quick thinking and reflexes by challenging players to quickly identify a series of words as being either positive or negative in connotation. SAT Vocab Challenge tracks student mastery of each minigame for all included vocabulary words. A sample gameplay video can be found on Modality’s website.
