Middleware developer Mogware Inc. announced the release of Mog Library, a version control tool that assists with storing large quantities of digital assets. Previously, Mog Library was an embedded component of the company's Mog Complete, a game data pipeline and workflow automation toolset. Available now as a standalone product, the tool enables artists to utilize the library's feature set without needing to first purchase Mog Complete. Mog Library includes real-time lock tracking features that can be embedded into external editors and tools. The library also comes with an out-of-the-box installer and first-run wizard designed to help less technical artists get started with the tool. "Modern games are 95% content and 5% code," says Mogware founder Kier Knowlton. "With that kind of ratio, it is a shame that artists are forced to use programmer-centric hand-me-downs to improve their efficiency. The industry is demanding powerful, cost-effective middleware solutions."
