U.S. cable network MTV2 has announced a second season of 'Video Mods', starting this Friday at 8pm E/P, for the music video show which co-opts popular video game characters and games into custom CG-created music videos from current artists. The previously shown season of 'Video Mods' included Fountains of Wayne's "Stacey's Mom", courtesy of Will Wright and EA's The Sims 2, as well as videos with visuals from Jade Empire and Tribes Vengeance. However, planned for this Friday's second season debut are Franz Ferdinand’s hit Take Me Out, interestingly using The Collective's Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith video game, Sum 41’s “Pieces” alongside Pandemic's Destroy All Humans, Good Charlotte’s Predictable visualized by High Moon's Darkwatch, and My Chemical Romance’s I’m Not Okay (I Promise) is recreated with Backbone Entertainment's Death Jr, for which MTV2 has the music video available on its website. In addition, the episode will feature custom-constructed machinima, in the form of Breaking Benjamin’s So Cold music video, using the Half-Life 2 engine. In upcoming episodes, the show features songs from the Beastie Boys, Ciara, Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday, and The Killers alongside games including NBA Street V3, Medal of Honor European Assault, Dance Dance Revolution, Silent Hill, and Lineage II.
