Developer and publisher NCsoft released Aion Exchange, a new iOS application enabling subscribers to MMORPG Aion to track their accounts, virtual equipment, marketplace trends, and more. The mobile app, which costs $1.99 on the iTunes App Store, offers an item compendium promising information for all equipment available in Aion, as well as stats, equipment, and other information for players' characters. It also lets users create wish lists for goods they want to purchase, allowing them to see the lowest price and number of auctions for a particular item. Aion Exchange's marketplace enables gamers to see weekly/monthly insights for the top five auctions, and the priciest and cheapest auctions, all organized by category. Furthermore, the app offers push notifications to alert users when their auction items have sold. NCsoft says the app is the beginning of its strategy to deliver game experiences across multiple platforms. Its upcoming subscription-free MMO Guild Wars 2 will have an app for iOS devices, Android smartphones, and browsers enabling players to chat with others, watch friends' movements on a map in real-time, and more. Rival publisher Blizzard Entertainment previously released a similar World of Warcraft Mobile Armory app that lets gamers view character information, an item database, and auction details on their iOS devices or Web browsers. The free application has a $2.99 monthly subscription option which allows players to also manage auctions remotely. "The economy within the world of Aion is wonderfully complex and deep and we've found that our fans are always looking for ways to better their interactions and experiences within the game," says NCsoft West's Aion producer Chris Hager. "Aion Exchange is for them." Hager continues, "Aion Exchange is our first step in offering valuable and profound ways for our community to connect with our games when away from their computers. The applications current offering gives players added insight when buying and selling of in-game items.” Aion Exchange is available in English, French and German for iPhone , iPod Touch, and iPad devices with iOS version 3.0 or greater.
