Nintendo has announced that it has now sold 10 million DS and DS Lite hardware units in the Americas since the handheld's launch in November 2004 - apparently the equivalent of 9 hardware units every minute. The report backs up specific stats in Nintendo's financial results released earlier today, with lifetime DS sales now put at 35.61 million worldwide, with 14.43 million in Japan, 10.18 million in the Americas and 11.00 million in the rest of the world. As a comparison point to Sony's rival system, U.S. sales-tracking firm NPD (whose stats evidently differ slightly from Nintendos) calculated that, up to the end of December 2006, the DS had sold 9.6 million units in North America, whereas the PlayStation Portable has sold 6.7 million units. Alongside this announcement, Nintendo also announced its full line-up of first and third-party DS titles for the first 3 months of 2007, revealing a total of 20 new DS games. Highlights include first-party mystery title Hotel Dusk: Room 215 in January, alongside Capcom's latest Phoenix Wright. Moving further along, February sees Diddy Kong Racing DS from the Microsoft-owned Rare debut for the handheld, alongside Buena Vista's Meteos: Disney Magic, whereas March features games including Nintendo's Wario: Master of Disguise and Custom Robo Arena and even Majesco's Cake Mania. The full list of releases is as follows: January 2007 Hotel Dusk: Room 215 - Nintendo Arthur & the Invisibles - Atari Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Justice for All - Capcom Fossil League DTC - D3Publisher February 2007 Diddy Kong Racing DS - Nintendo Lunar Knights - Konami F24 Stealth Fighter - Majesco Disney's Kim Possible: Global Gemini - Buena Vista Meteos: Disney Magic - Buena Vista Winning Eleven Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 - Konami Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja - Atlus March 2007 Wario: Master of Disguise - Nintendo Custom Robo Arena - Nintendo Disney's Herbie: Rescue Rally - Buena Vista Disney's Meet the Robinsons - Buena Vista Spectrobes - Buena Vista Steel Horizon - Konami Cake Mania - Majesco Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords - D3 Publisher TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) - Ubisoft
