Nintendo has confirmed that the forthcoming release of its interactive fitness game Wii Fit will launch in North America on May 19th, carrying a retail price of $89.99 for the title and its Balance Board peripheral. The game, which Nintendo notes has sold more than 1.4 million copies in Japan since its December 1st, 2007 launch, has more than 40 yoga, aerobics, strength training and balance activities. Nintendo says the title is intended to keep "every member of the household can step up and stay active, setting individual fitness goals and tracking their progress over time." Expected to be the latest high profile Wii title launch following a successful debut for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, analysts have predicted that Nintendo will be supporting the game with an increased supply of Wii consoles, after a shift to Europe to support its own launch of the game.
