Nintendo Europe representatives have confirmed today that the e-Reader hardware and cards will not be released outside of the US and Japan. The GBA peripheral, capable of reading specially encoded trading cards to download interactive content, was launched last year in the US in support of Animal Crossing. Since Animal Crossing was also never released in Europe the fate of the e-Reader had always been in question, but it was only today that it was formally removed from the release slate.
