Nvidia has announced the release of three new products in their Quadro professional graphics workstation solution series – the Quadro FX 4600, FX 5600, and Quadro Plex Visual Computing System Model IV. The company notes that these models feature the largest increase in GPU power in its history, and also make use of its Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) technology. The support of Shader Model 4.0 enables a high level of performance from OpenGL and DirectX 10 applications, while frame buffers of up to 1.5GB allow for real-time processing of large textures and frames, as well as full-scene antialiasing. The company also says that the unified architecture in the new range allows for the dynamic allocation of “compute, geometry, shading and pixel processing power for optimized GPU performance”. Additional features in the new Quadro products include faster 3D texturing and 8Kx8K texture processing for zooming and panning of high-resolution images, NVIDIA’s Scalable Link Interface technology, dual dual-link display connectivity and the company’s PureVideo technology for “accurate color and precise image scaling for SD and HD content”.
