BioWare published a brief public memorial today to mark the passing of Corey Gaspur, a game designer who spent nearly a decade working at the company's headquarters in Edmonton.

Gaspur was most recently working as lead designer on BioWare's upcoming shared-world action RPG Anthem, but he is credited with contributing to everything from Mass Effect 2 and to Dragon Age: Origins to Sonic Chronicles. Prior to that, he worked briefly at the now-defunct Propaganda Games in Vancouver.

He also spent time serving as a part-time instructor at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) in Edmonton, where he taught game design for many years.
