Game publisher and distributor Crave Entertainment / SVG Distribution has passed on word that Mark "Chip" VanDeVelde, a vice president with their company, passed away on Saturday, February 18th, 2006. Chip was a long time industry veteran, a part of the SVG Distribution / Crave Entertainment family since 1998, and was the national sales manager for Konami before joining Crave. SVG Distribution / Crave Entertainment will be starting a scholarship fund for Chip's daughter Callahan, who is 11 years old. Visitation will be held at the McDonald-Allen-Grennan Funeral Home on Thursday, February 23rd from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and the Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 24th - 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The VanDeVelde family requests that donations be made to the scholarship fund in lieu of sending flowers.
