OC3 Entertainment, a provider of facial animation technology in games, announced the use of Fonix VoiceIn speech recognition technology in the FaceFX product. FaceFX generates facial animation data from audio dialogue. Using Fonix VoiceIn technology, FaceFX creates more realistic animations and takes advantage of VoiceIn's native support for US English, UK English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Korean, and Japanese. The partnership between OC3 Entertainment and Fonix is significant because the two companies are working together to provide a real-time facial animation solution that will improve in-game voice chatting. "OC3 has done a great job of utilizing Fonix VoiceIn to increase the realism of the game experience," says Tim K. Hong, VP of Fonix Games. "We are pleased with the way game developers are using our speech tools to enhance games and keep them cutting edge. The industry is really advancing because of new technologies from companies like OC3 and Fonix."
