Representatives from Nokia have finally announced official sales figures for the N-Gage mobile phone/console, with a claim of around 400,000 units sold in the first two weeks. The company’s sales target for the machine is six to nine million units before the end of 2004. As reported previously the only unofficial sales figures available for the N-Gage’s first week of sales are 500 in the UK (not including mobile phone retailers) and 5,000 in the US (including both game and mobile phone retailers). Ilkka Raiskinen, senior vice president entertainment and media, told Reuters that sales to consumers were "very good in Europe and Asia Pacific" and added he had already received follow-up orders.
