A detailed analysis of NPD's February sales numbers from Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter reveals estimated new U.S. retail software sales for many highly visible titles. Majesco's Zumba Fitness sold 301,000 units in its sixth place sales finish for the month, according to Pachter. This comes after the title reportedly sold "over 300,000" units in January and shipped 500,000 units to retailers in its first two months on sale. Sales of EA's Dead Space 2 were down 31 percent from January to February, Pachter said, which puts the title somewhere around 305,000 units for February when combined with a Piper Jaffray report of 411,000 January sales. Tenth-place February sales finisher Mario Sports Mix sold roughly 200,000 units in its debut month, Pachter said, while DS re-release Dragon Quest VI sold roughly 50,000 for the month. A few high profile THQ products performed well below expectations in February, Pachter said. Sales of the uDraw tablet were "about flat" from January's levels, which a Piper Jaffray analyst has put at around 26,000 units. The multi-platform sequel to De Blob 2, meanwhile, sold "well below" Pachter's 75,000 unit estimate in February, he said. Pachter's breakdown of top single-system software sales showed Marvel vs. Capcom 3 beating Call of Duty: Black Ops atop the PS3's chart, while the reverse was true on the Xbox 360. Killzone 3 took third place on the PS3, while Bulletstorm took third place on the Xbox 360, Pachter said. Three legacy Mario title topped Nintendo DS sales in February, Pachter said: New Super Mario Bros., Mario Kart DS, and Mario Vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem, in that order.
