PICO Kicks Off First Dev Jam for Global Developers to Usher in a New Era in for XR

PICO, a leading VR brand with independent innovation and R&D creation capabilities, will kick off the 2023 PICO Dev Jam on 25th of Sep, its first-ever global challenge for emerging virtual reality developers. The competition aims to boost the XR ecosystem through the development of innovative virtual reality and mixed reality content, while also nurturing PICO’s growing community of VR developers around the world.

As the XR industry enters a new stage of openness that brings in more mixed reality components, PICO's new Dev Jam competition offers an opportunity for developers to expand their creativity and create new experiences that will chart a new course for the future of extended reality. It will challenge developers to build a new XR/MR application demo, game, tool, or experience prototype with the latest version of PICO’s developer SDK toolkit. The competition is easy to enter and is open to developers from Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, Japan, Korea and China. Developers from all backgrounds and experience levels, including university students and small-scale developers, are encouraged to take part. Registration is open as of September 25, with the submission window closing on November 11. Alongside the Dev Jam competition, PICO will also hold a campus tour at some of the leading engineering and technical universities in North America and Europe. At each stop of the campus tour, students will be able to attend presentations about PICO’s latest technological developments in virtual and mixed reality, as well as experience the latest products first-hand. This comes as part of PICO’s commitment to fostering the talent of university students through direct, hands-on collaboration to help accelerate innovation in the VR industry.
