Pixologic, makers of ZBrush, has announced the release of three new plug-ins: ZApp Link, Displacement Exporter, and Multi-Displacement 2. ZApp Link is a free plug-in that extends and enhances ZBrush’s texturing and illustration capabilities by automating the connection with programs such as Photoshop, Painter, and Illustrator. Displacement Exporter is a free plug-in for registered users that automates and enhances ZBrush's current displacement exporting abilities. It includes the ability to export out 8 bit, 16 bit, and 32 bit floating point grey-scale or RGB maps. It also includes the ability to convert the user's displacement map into a normal map and gives the user full control over what he or she puts in each channel of the file texture. Multi-Displacement 2 enables the user to generate 32-bit floating-point maps with real-world coordinates baked into the displacement map as well as generate multiple displacement maps for a model by using UV regions. 32-bit floating point maps provides the highest degree of fidelity between the ZBrush sculpt and the final render.
