Ageia Technologies, a developer of hardware-accelerated physics for games, announced a new partnership with RAD Game Tools today during the Austin Games Conference, as well as co-hosting a presentation with MMO developer NetDevil (Auto Assault) on the development benefits afforded by Ageia PhysX technology. The company announced at the conference that RAD Game Tools' popular Granny 3D Animation System has been integrated with Ageia PhysX physics acceleration technology. RAD Game Tools' Granny 3D is a development toolkit is designed to be used to a wide range of interactive 3D worlds, objects and characters. Granny 3D and the AGEIA PhysX SDK are available separately, but when used together provide game developers with the ability to apply real-time physical properties to character animations. In addition, Ageia and developer NetDevil announced that the companies will jointly host a special presentation titled 'How to Add State-of-the-Art Hardware Physics to Your Title' today at the Austin Games Conference. During the presentation, Scott Brown, president of NetDevil, and Al Murray, Applications Engineer at Ageia, will give game makers tips on how to integrate hardware physics into massively multiplayer online (MMO) role playing products using Ageia PhysX technology. NetDevil's vehicle-based MMO Auto Assault is built to take advantage of PC setups that include the Ageia PhysX processor.
