Following its recent announcement on the merging of Umbra Software’s dPVS into its development suite, BigWorld, a provider of Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) platforms, announced that it has also partnered with integrated online voice communications developer Vivox Inc. The partnership will bring Vivox's Precision Studio into the BigWorld suite and allow players to communicate both in groups or one-on-one in a fully integrated application within the game. The Vivox voice chat is facilitated through the pre-existing Vivox Network, leaving game servers and CPU resources untouched by the chat. "BigWorld is the leading provider of advanced development solutions for game designers and producers," said Rob Seaver, CEO of Vivox. "BigWorld's selection of Vivox's integrated voice communications is a clear example of their ongoing commitment to delivering the best possible features and solutions to their customers. Finally, developers will be able to include a voice solution in their games that is deeply integrated, massively scalable and supported by a team of communications experts. We're excited to be working with BigWorld and their customers to support their development of visionary new games." The two companies are jointly presenting the technology at this week's Austin Game Conference in Vivox booth number 314 and the BigWorld booth number 502.
