Officials from video game update management tool firm GameShadow have announced a partnership with graphics card firm Nvidia that will allow drivers for Nvidia GeForce graphics processing units (GPU) and Nvidia nForce media communications processors (MCP) to be updated using GameShadow’s update and patching software. GameShadow officials also noted that the company has reached a new milestone of half a million users much earlier than anticipated. GameShadow software is used by numerous publishers, and allows gamers to find out what updates are available for supported games and graphics cards and download them if necessary. In addition, game demos, movies, trailers and other content is also available, along with automatic alerts for new content for specific games. Prior to today's partnership with Nvidia, the company also recently teamed with Konami (for The Regiment) and with Eidos (for multiple titles) in executing licensing deals. “When we set GameShadow up, the ambition was simple - to make it easy and quick for gamers and PC owners to get the patches and drivers that they needed,” commented GameShadow's founder and COO Tony Treadwell. “Today, not only do 500,000 users save time searching for individual updates to maximise the performance of their kit and finding the best patches for their favourite games, but they also have open access to some additional unique and highly desirable games content.” He added: “Our partnership with Nvidia means that we will continue to play an important part in ensuring that gamers experience the very best from their games catalogue.”
