PhoeniX Technologies (PTI) announced the launch of the company's VZAutoCal solution. This latest member of PTI's suite of Visualeyez 3D motion capture products attempts to make the task of manually calibrating a motion capture system much easier. PTI's Visualeyez systems already offer a convenient manual system calibration procedures, taking just one minute per tracker; now VZAutoCal eliminates even this requirement. A capture subject entering the motion capture area triggers an automatic system calibration which completes within a second; not even an operator is required. In addition, VZAutoCal provides 'adaptive functionality'. If during a capture session any tracker is moved due to any reason whatsoever, man-made or temperature change, the adaptive function would automatically recalibrate the system. This keeps the system accurate continuously, so users can carry on with their motion capture without needing to perform any manual recalibration. What differentiates PTI's Visualeyez system from others is its combination of wide-angle high accuracy sensing, always real-time operation, and intrinsic flawless marker ID tracking capabilities. Today's addition of instant automatic calibration and continuous adaptive recalibration functions further make Visualeyez a 'turn-key' system.
