Interactive Data Visualization, developers of foliage middleware solution SpeedTree, announced that its company's product will be used to help create the outdoor scenes in Legend: Hand of God, an upcoming PC role-playing game under development by Master Creating that will be published in 2007 by Anaconda. Although both Master Creating and Anaconda are based in Germany, the team of developers includes international talent such as art director Andreas Adamek, who previously worked on movies such as 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' The SpeedTree software delivers highly realistic digital trees and plants, with adjustable wind effects, user-configurable LOD transitions, and an included library of hundreds of tree, plant and marine models representing more than 170 core species. The tool has already found use in a number of highly regarded next-generation titles, such as THQ's Siants Row and Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, both for the Xbox 360. In addition, developers of Webzen's upcoming MMOFPS Huxley are also utilizing the SpeedTree technology. “Especially in an RPG like Legend: Hand of God, with its various and large outdoor environments, SpeedTree is a huge timesaver,” said Jan Beuck, Creative Director for Master Creating. “With SpeedTree, vegetation’s not a problem – all trees one can think of are already created and render fast, thanks to the unique way the leaves are displayed.”.
