StoneTrip has announced that the latest edition of ShiVa, its development toolkit based on its proprietary Ston3D engine, is available in three separate versions-- PLE, INDIE and PRO-- targeted toward the specific needs of different userbases. Version PRO is the complete version of ShiVa, and includes unlimited file export, collaborative features and optimizaton tools. Version INDIE includes almost all of PRO's functionality, but with a limited file export suitable for smaller projects. Finally, Version PLE (Personal Learning Edition) has no file export features, but is a complete version suitable for training. Multimedia and interactive content created in ShiVa can be executed in either PC or Mac environments. According to the company, it also allows the design of "light" apps such as virtual tours or 3D object views. The software supports a number of features including real-time or pre-calculated lighting and shadow rendering, collision management, animation, advanced materials management, level of detail, scripted behaviours, sound environment, videos, and more.
