Representatives from German developer ZUXXEZ (Earth 2160) Entertainment AG have announced the first release in its 'Crystal Pictures' 3D tool series, ParticleGen, has gone gold. ParticleGen is a tool for the creation of multifaceted 3D particle effects in real-time, with interactive real-time previews and curve diagram parameter setting, suited for DTP, video compositing, post processing, software development and all kinds of visualization. ParticleGen can create nearly any effect, from explosions and fog to reflections in water, with optional optical deformation effects such as shimmering air and shock waves. ZUXXEZ also promises that user-created particle shapes can be imported from any image editing program or from textured 3DS files, which can then be used as particles or animations. Maya users can also import camera animations for compositing purposes. ParticleGen can import TGA (both images and sequences), BMP, DDS, or AVI files, and allows the combination of effects with the upcoming release of Tree-Gen, letting users integrate trees and bushes into ParticleGen. ParticleGen will be available in stores on the 20th of December, or for download starting at 89 Euroes for the personal version, or 299 Euros for the professional version.
