In a steady week for Japanese hardware sales, the PSP remained on top of the individual platform charts, while the combined versions of the Nintendo DS line topped the overall platform charts. PSP sales saw the greatest sales drop, from 34,839 units sold last week to 30,761 units this week, but still held strong as the best selling platform. Across all versions of the hardware, the Nintendo DS line sold 39,749 units overall, with the DSi LL making up the majority of its sales with 19,076 units sold, while the DSi and DS Lite sold 16,345 and 4,328 units respectively. Platform rankings remained identical from last week, with little difference in overall sales, indicating consistent hardware sales week over week. This week's leading home console was the PlayStation 3, with 19,907 units sold compared to 22,227 units sold last week. Below are the full sales rankings from Media Create for the week ended September 12, 2010. (The second chart lumps together sales of all models in a given line of hardware.)
