The PSP led the Japanese hardware charts this week, as nearly all other platforms experienced sales declines, reports tracking firm Media Create. For the week ended January 23, the standard PSP hardware sold 35,636 units, jumping past the PlayStation 3, which sold 23,792 units. While the original PSP model saw healthy sales, the PSP go only sold 198 units, down from 1,208 units last week. The Nintendo DS line saw declining sales across all its hardware versions, and fell to number three on the overall hardware sales chart. Other than the PSP, the PlayStation 2 was the only other platform to see a sales boost, selling an additional 200 units compared to the previous week. Below are the full sales rankings from Media Create for the week ended January 23, 2011. (The second chart lumps together sales of all models in a given line of hardware.
