Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in an exclusively compiled list. This week brings the worldwide multiplatform debuts of Lego Batman and Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway. UK gamers get an early release of Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, meanwhile, as Japan receives Aquanaut's Holiday: Hidden Memories and Cross Edge. The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending September 27th, 2008. Games Released in the United States:
New releases continue to flood North American retailers following last week's multiplatform deluge. The Nintendo DS alone is set to host 20 games in all, including RPG ports Disgaea DS and Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure, along with awaited titles like Time Hollow, SimCity Creator, and Kirby Super Star Ultra. Console offerings are highlighted by Traveller's Tales' Lego Batman, while Sony's platforms receive a new SingStar title and a pair of entries in the Buzz! series. Europe shares many of North America's biggest premieres in the coming week, as Wario Land: The Shake Dimension is set for release on the Wii while Baja: Edge of Control and Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway debut on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Region-exclusive European releases for this week include an early look at the BioWare-developed DS RPG Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, along with English localizations for Koei's horse racing sims G1 Jockey Wii 2008 and G1 Jockey 4 2008, neither of which are currently slated to appear in other territories. Localized versions of EA's Madden NFL 09 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 will make their way to Japan this week, arriving alongside console offerings that include the sealife simulator Aquanaut's Holiday: Hidden Memories and the multi-franchise crossover RPG Cross Edge. Wii owners can expect to see a new Bomberman title and the Monolith Soft-developed Disaster: Day of Crisis, while the regional PlayStation 2 lineup features the awaited debuts of Super Robot Taisen Z and Kinnikuman Muscle Grand Prix Max 2 Tokumori. On portables, Sega's World Destruction: Michibi Kareshi Ishi headlines the week's DS offerings, while PSP owners receive the Star Soldier series compilation Soldier Collection.
