According to a new report from the Cannes Film Festival, Halcyon Company owners Victor Kubicek and Derek Anderson have expanded on previously reported plans for games based on the forthcoming Terminator Salvation with newly secured options to the work of author Philip K Dick. The report, from UK newspaper The Guardian, notes that Halcyon has planned online and offline games based on the Terminator film due for release in spring of 2009, which is to be followed by two further sequels. Halcyon said in November of 2007 the games would be released on next-generation consoles, PC and mobile. Halcyon has also secured first options to what The Guardian says is the "still largely untapped 44 novels and 120 short stories" of Philip K Dick, whose work has been adapted into movies like Blade Runner, Minority Report and Total Recall. According to the report, Halcyon is planning two new games based on Dick's work, along with two movies and a "major animation." No further details on any of the planned games or particulars on which of Dick's stories might get the game treatment were revealed.
