Ritual Entertainment Splits Into Two

Ritual Entertainment announced that it is splitting into two companies, Ritual Entertainment and Mumbo Jumbo.

Dallas, TX-based Ritual said that the new company, Mumbo Jumbo, will be lead by by Mark Dochtermann (who served as President and Technical Director for Ritual) and Ron Dimant (who was Ritual's CEO). No changes in Ritual's current development strategy were announced. Mumbo Jumbo's first title will be Myth III: The Wolf Age, an RTS game to be published by Gathering of Developers. Mumbo Jumbo's current studio is located in Irvine CA, with facilities planned for Dallas and London over the next 12 months. Mumbo Jumbo is also in the process of porting Baldur's Gate II, Icewind Dale, Sacrifice, and Giants: Citizen Kabuto to the Mac for MacPlay. Ritual Entertainment was formed in 1996 by five employees that departed 3D Realms Entertainment. Ritual has since delivered Quake Mission Pack #1: Scourge of Armagon, Sin, Wages of Sin, Heavy Metal: FAKK2 and most recently Blair Witch Volume 3: The Elly Kedward Tale.
