Today's round-up includes news of an interesting Disneyland-related linkup between a park ride and online game players, information on iEntertainment's work with the Air Force, and details on YDreams' mobile MMO plans, as well as the latest product news and job postings. - A new PC mini-game available at the Disneyland website allows those playing from their home computers to team up with parkgoers on the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters ride at Disneyland's Tomorrowland area. The home players can use the online game to light up special targets in the real-world park, which their teammate can shoot for extra points. Team scores are saved and ranked on a leaderboard, which is viewable from the site. The title was developed at Totally Games, formerly renowned for the X-Wing Vs. TIE Fighter space combat series. - Systems & Electronics Inc of St. Louis, Missouri, has contracted iEntertainment Network to develop an interactive Crew Chief simulator to aid in personnel training. iEntertainment, developer of the WarBirds simulation games, will work both with SEI and the Air Force Material Command in developing the software, which is already underway. The first phase of the software's development, along with a report and demonstration, is scheduled to be complete by September 2005. - YDreams, the Portuguese developer of multiplayer mobile title Undercover 2: Merc Wars, has hit upon a new promotional tool for its game: the company is sponsoring a TV show based on the game's content to be aired on Portuguese station SIC. Both animated and live-action content will be produced, with no expected beginning airdate announced. Undercover 2: Merc Wars is an online title for mobile phones that uses real-world locations as the playing field, utilizing GPS and accurate Navteq maps for hundreds of cities.
