Today's round-up includes a reminder about the ending of the ESA's charity auction, as well as a fresh offering of Rockstar's special Kubrick GTA figures and the latest impressive sales figures for the Japanese release of FFVII: Advent Children. Also updated today: new product news, a Letter To The Editor, and job postings. - The sixth annual Entertainment Software Association charity auction is nearing completion, with many of the eBay auctions ending on Friday, October 14th. Still up for bids are rare memorabilia including a PlayStation 2 signed by the cast of Alias; 2 tickets to E3 2006; a Darth Vader maquette and authentic lightsaber reproduction, both autographed by George Lucas; and a tour of Nintendo of America's offices for 6 people. The full list of auctions still going can be seen at the ESA's eBay page. - Rockstar Games has made available once more the promotional set of Kubrick figures for Grand Theft Auto III, originally issued in a limited edition of 3000. The set includes miniature, Lego-like versions of the main GTA3 character as well as supporting cast 8-Ball, Misty, Salvatore Leone, and Donald Love. The entire set is available from Rockstar's online store for $39.99, though the supplies may not last long. - Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, the "visual content" that acts as a sequel of sorts to Square Enix's hit RPG, has sold over 700,000 copies on UMD and DVD in Japan. Originally released to retail on September 14th after select festival showings, the film will go on to more screenings at the Montreal and Catalonia Film Festivals, with a wider release to follow. No specific date for the English version, whether in theaters or on home video, has yet been announced. - Also updated today: product news including the latest update to the gDEBugger tool, a new Letter To The Editor discussing possibilities for mobile game hardware, and today's Gamasutra job postings, including positions from Blizzard Entertainment, DePaul University, Disney Buena Vista Games, Edge of Reality, Full Sail, Liquid Entertainment, Obsidian Entertainment, Philadelphia University, Rainbow Studios, Screenlife, Sony Computer Entertainment America, and Ubisoft.
