Today's Gamasutra round-up includes news of Brothers In Arms coming to the PSP, 10tacle Studios assuming control of a number of CDV's game titles, and Fight Night Round 3 coming to the PlayStation 3, as well as the latest GameSetWatch posts, Serious Games Source news, product news, and Gamasutra job postings. - Ubisoft and developer Gearbox Software today announced Brothers In Arms D-Day, a PSP exclusive World War II squad-based action game. In the game, players will take part in D-Day as a Screaming Eagle, as the story follows Sergeants Baker and Hartsock and their squad of paratroopers during the Normandy invasion. Brothers In Arms D-Day will allow players to progress through the game's 12-mission campaign alone, or though an enhanced co-op mode (Skirmish). Brothers in Arms D-Day is being developed by Ubisoft Shanghai in collaboration with Gearbox Software and will be available in fall 2006. - Representatives from German publisher 10tacle Studios have announced that the company has secured the rights to a number of titles previously held by European-headquartered game publisher CDV. Games transferred to 10tacle include Nintendo DS strategy title Panzer Tactics, as well as PC titles Jack Keane and War Front. On August 18, CDV transferred all present and future rights, in particular all trademark rights, to these titles to GDD Games Development and Distribution GmbH. After acquiring all of the rights for the three games from GDD, 10tacle Studios also took over the development contracts with the game's development studios - Digital Reality, Deck 13 and Sproing. The real-time strategy game War Front and the Jack Kean adventure game will expand on the company's PC line-up, while Panzer Tactics will serve as the company's first Nintendo DS offering. - Electronic Arts today announced that it will be bringing its popular boxing game, Fight Night Round 3, to the PlayStation 3 this holiday season in North America. The new version of the game, which is already available for the Xbox 360, Xbox, PS2, and PSP, will also include new gameplay features, such as a new 'Get in the Ring' first-person mode and full ESPN integration, which will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3 platform. “With EA SPORTS Fight Night Round 3 for PlayStation 3,” commented Michael Blank, producer, EA Canada, “we want to give gamers an exciting and unique gameplay experience that will take the realism of Fight Night even further by allowing players to live the game through their own eyes.” - The latest updates on Gamasutra sister weblog GameSetWatch include Manifesto Games offering Plasmaworm for free, a delay of Stonewall Penitentiary as it leaps from 2D to 3D, and a rather gratuitous adult-themed mobile game by the name of College Girls. - Also updated today: Serious Games Source news, including an exclusive interview with Bohemia Interactive's VBS2 lead developer, Gamasutra product news concerning Hansoft being used by Eurocom and Gamebryo being made available for XBLA development, plus the latest Gamasutra job postings, featuring openings from Demiurge Studios, LucasArts, Mayo Clinic, soVoz, and THQ KAOS.
