Today's Gamasutra round-up includes news on the final ship date for much-awaited Xbox 360 title Oblivion, news on a call for papers for an Italian conference on adaptive behavior and games, and some notable Flash-related awards for IGF finalist Dofus, as well as the latest GameSetWatch posts, product news, and Gamasutra job postings. - 2K Games and Bethesda have set a concrete release date for The Elder Scrolls III: Oblivion, the much-awaited and much-delayed RPG for the Xbox 360. Originally planned as a launch game for the system, Take-Two moved the game back to an unspecified spring date in October 2005. The game will be shipped the week of March 20th, likely landing in stores on the 22nd. "Our most ambitious project ever is finally done," said Oblivion executive producer Todd Howard. "We're excited to get the game into everyone's hands and let them experience it for themselves. We hope they enjoy it. I think it's our best game yet." - The Ninth International Conference on Simulation of Adaptive Behavior is putting out a call for paper submissions, specifically for the workshop on "Adaptive Approaches for Optimizing Player Satisfaction in Computer and Physical Games." The workshop, to be held at the conference in Rome, Italy on October 1st, is open to all AI and adaptive behavior professionals without having to register for the wider SAB 2006 conference. Guidelines for formatting and submission are available at the conference website, and all paper submissions are due by May 1st, 2006. - Dofus, a 2D French MMORPG scripted in Flash, has won the Best Game prize in both the juried and audience-vote categories at the Flash Forward conference in Seattle, Washington. The game features more humor than the average MMO, as well as tactical gameplay to make up for its lack of a third dimension. The game currently has a player base of 600,000, gained after its launch in September 2005. Dofus is one of the finalists at the upcoming Independent Games Festival and will be featured at the Game Developers Conference [like Gamasutra.com, a product of the CMP Game Group]. - Today's posts on Gamasutra's sister weblog GameSetWatch include the latest info on the I Am 8-Bit art show, some barely concealed excitement for Capcom's Dead Rising, and more about Penn & Teller's unreleased Sega CD title than you may ever want to know. - Also updated today: product news including the latest release of the PathEngine game pathing SDK, as well as the latest Gamasutra job postings from companies including Activision Value, Day 1 Studios, FASA Studio, High Moon Studios, LucasArts, NCsoft, Nelson Staffing Solutions, Seven Studios, SCEA, and Ubisoft Shanghai.
