Today's round up includes news of an extension granted to Majesco by Nasdaq, an Oklahoma video game violence bill that's headed to the governor for signing, and Midway bringing Myst to the PSP, as well as the latest GameSetWatch posts, Serious Games Source news, and Gamasutra job postings. - A recent SEC filing has indicated that Majesco Entertainment has been granted an extension by Nasdaq in order for the company to file its fiscal second-quarter results and to show compliance with Nasdaq's minimum stockholders' equity rule. The extension necessitates that Majesco must file its 10-Q for the fiscal quarter ended April 30, 2006 on or by June 10, 2006, within which it must show that the company meets Nasdaq's $2.5 million stockholders' equity requirement. The report indicated that Majesco believes that it can meet this requirement by the June 10 deadline. - According to a report by political gaming weblog GamePolitics.com, violent video game-related Oklahoma bill HB3004, which was authored by Republican State Representative Fred Morgan, has passed its second trip to the House and is on its way to Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry who has five days to sign the bill into law. HB3004 takes a similar stance as Utah Republican David Hogue’s HB257 “Games as Porn” bill, which was struck down in March but would have made it a felony to knowingly exhibit or sell violent video games to minors. This new bill seeks to amend an existing Oklahoma statute that defines things deemed "harmful to minors” such as pornography by adding the term "inappropriate violence” to what is found to be unsuitable for minors according to “contemporary community standards.” - Midway's London branch today announced that it will be publishing the popular Cyan-created adventure game Myst on the PSP. While the announcement did not specify which region or regions Midway will be publishing the game within, it seems likely that it will handle the release within both the European and North American markets. No release date for the game, which has already been released in Japan, was announced. - The latest updates on Gamasutra sister weblog GameSetWatch include a new weblog from Puzzle Pirates creator Daniel James, a crazed musical performance using both the Vectrex and the Atari 2600, and a look back at the classic PlayStation rhythm game, Um Jammer Lammy. - Also updated today: Serious Games Source news on FuturePlay organizers looking for serious games to exhibit, Reno students making a training sim for the Navy, and a post-E3 interview with Serious Games Initiative's Ben Sawyer, as well as the latest Gamasutra job postings, featuring openings from Midway Games, Sony Computer Entertainment America, Tilted Mill Entertainment, and Ubisoft.
