Today's round-up includes the latest information on the top PC games in North America, Datel's gigantic PSP memory drive, and the dates for the latest Electronic Sports World Cup, as well as today's product news, Letter To The Editor, and Gamasutra job postings. - The top 10 best-selling North American PC games of the week ending September 26 have been released by the NPD Group. #1 is The Sims 2: Nightlife, while World of Warcraft is still selling strongly enough to take the #2 spot. In third is Battlefield 2, expansion pack Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Winter Assault takes #4, and The Sims 2 on its own is #5. After that, Fable: The Lost Chapters comes in at #6, Guild Wars is 7th, Nancy Drew: Secret of the Old Clock is an odd #8, The Sims Deluxe is 9th, and Dungeon Siege 2 rounds out the list at #10. - Though Sony has not given any plans to release a new model of PSP with a hard drive for media functions, third-party peripheral manufacturer Datel will soon release a combination 4GB drive and battery pack. No release date or price has been announced yet, but the device will offer twice the battery life of the battery shipped with the PSP, and storage capacity beyond what the current largest size of Memory Stick Duo offers. The package will also include Datel's Get Connected media cable and software for transferring images, movies, and music files to the PSP. - The fourth Electronic Sports World Cup Grand Final will take place next year from June 27 to July 2nd, as 800 gamers in both PC and console divisions challenge one another, organizers have announced. The event will be the final showdown after the qualifying tournaments held in 50 countries, with the winners going on to the Grand Final at the Palais Omnisports in Paris Bercy. Over 40,000 spectators are expected to attend the final. - Also updated today: product news including Hyperfocal Design's announcement of its HDRI Skies texture pack, plus a new Letter To The Editor rebutting yesterday's criticism of a recent design article, as well as today's Gamasutra job listings, including new positions from Artificial Mind and Movement, Iron Lore Entertainment, Kush Games, Rainbow Studios, THQ, and TikGames.
