Today's round-up includes news on sound editing recognition for Capcom's Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, special packaging for an upcoming Guild Wars expansion pack, and Codemasters' return to the Micro Machines franchise, as well as the latest GameSetWatch postings, product news, and Gamasutra job postings. - Capcom's Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, the fourth game in its samurai-action series, has garnered a Golden Reel Award for Best Sound Editing in Computer Entertainment. The award, given by the Motion Picture Sound Editors, was presented on March 4th in Beverly Hills. "It is an honor to be recognized for the team’s efforts in sound editing alongside other talented groups from the motion picture and television industry," said producer Yoshinori Ono. "We take great pride in the production effort that we put behind Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams and I am thrilled this project was highly regarded for its technological merits in sound." - NCsoft and ArenaNet have announced a Collector's Edition for the upcoming Guild Wars Factions, the first expansion to the popular MMORPG. Included in the special edition will be an art book, soundtrack CD by composer Jeremy Soule, a cloth picture, a desk calendar, a mousepad, and the unusual bonus of special edition-exclusive emote command within the game. NCsoft will host a beta event for all existing Guild Wars players to try the new game, and entice them to buy either the collector's edition or standard edition upon its April 28th release. - Codemasters will be reviving its Micro Machines franchise, which pits toy cars against one another in races, with a new game for multiple platforms. Called Micro Machines v4, the new game will be released for PlayStation 2, PC, and the PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS handheld systems.
