Microsoft announced today that in the week since the launch of its Xbox Live, almost all of the kits have been sold -- about 150,000 units.
The Xbox Live Starter Kits, priced at $50, come with a one-year subscription to the online service. The company also said that since the Xbox Live release, the sales of Xbox consoles jumped 18% over the prior week. Microsoft will continue to roll out the system in Europe and Japan over the coming months:
On November 30, Xbox Live testing begins in France, Germany and the United Kingdom.
On January 16, 2003, the system launches in Japan.
On March 14, 2003, Xbox Live will launch in France, Germany and the United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden.
