The Godfather: Blackhand Edition also finds success in Europe this week, while the just-released Cooking Mama: Cook Off finishes as the fifth-best selling Wii title in the United States. Amazon's ongoing "Deal of the Day" promotion once again plays a big role in weekly sales results, as a temporary price point of $19.99 has driven Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent to the top in Xbox 360 software sales in the United States this week. The sale forces Double Agent's Clancyverse cousin Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 into second place, though GRAW 2 will likely retake the top position soon after the sale ends. New vitality has been pumped into the PS3 charts after weeks of inactivity, as newcomers Virtua Tennis 3, The Godfather: The Don's Edition, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion shake up sales results in the United States in their first week of release. Even bigger news comes from Europe, which has seen the release of several PS3 games in the days prior to the debut of the PlayStation 3 console itself. Thus far, MotorStorm, Resistance: Fall of Man, and Formula One Championship Edition have proven to be the most popular titles among the PS3's European launch lineup, though these results could change in the weeks following the PS3's release. The non-guitar bundled edition of Guitar Hero II also saw a brief surge in popularity earlier in the week, following a price drop as part of Amazon's "Deal of the Day" promotion. The price has since risen back to MSRP, however, leaving Guitar Hero II to drop to a fourth place finish in weekly sales. Japan, meanwhile, sees three Koei-published offerings as its top PS2 sellers for the week, while newcomer Rozen Maiden: Geppetto Garden and Capcom's Okami take fourth and fifth place. D3 Publisher's Puzzle Quest is also making news this week, with sales strong enough to ensure it a place in this week's top five DS sellers -- a rarity for a relatively obscure third-party title. After a somewhat slow sales start in its first few weeks of release, 300: March to Glory climbs into the top five PSP sellers in the United States. The game joins other popular favorites like Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, both of which remain consistent sellers from week to week. Japan's chart also contains a number of mainstays that are not likely to disappear anytime soon, though Sega's Puyo Puyo! 15th Anniversary manages to penetrate the chart in its debut week for a fourth place finish.
