Scaleform Corporation, a provider of graphical user interface and scalable vector graphics engines, announced that it will demonstrate two cross-platform GUI game solutions, GFC Complete and GFC Lite, at the Austin Game Conference. The GFC Complete engine is designed to reduce the expense of complex user interface creation, by providing C++ GUI components with a set of visual layout and theme editing tools. The GFC Complete SDK is marketed toward PC and next generation console development, and will be on display inside the Civilization IV demo stations. Scaleform will also unveil GFC Lite - the first hardware accelerated lightweight vector graphics engine that supports the latest Flash file format and is designed specifically for game developers. With GFC Lite, developers will be able to leverage artistic talent that is already skilled in Flash. Along with the two product demos, Scaleform will show the recently released Sid Meier’s Civilization IV, developed by Firaxis Games. Civilization IV is the first title to integrate Scaleform’s GUI Foundation Class library, which Firaxis used to create the game’s new interface.
