Industry veteran Sheri Graner-Ray (Ultima series, FusionFall) to deliver Brighton, England conference's Women in Games keynote address -- a special event at the larger conference to be held this July. The Women in Games summit is a half-day event on the last day of the three-day conference, which begins July 13. It is dedicated to discussions of diversity in both the industry's ranks and in the products it produces. Its mission statement, taken from the Develop site, is to: "Highlight academic and industrial perspectives on groundbreaking work in computer games research, games development and games education. Focus attention on issues of special interest to women in the games industry and through this seek to address the games industry's gender imbalance and develop a fuller understanding of games and game playing." Graner-Ray got her start in 1989, and currently works for Schell Games, heading up its Austin, Texas-based satellite studio. She has also spoken at numerous GDC conferences, and is the author of Gender Inclusive Game Design: Expanding The Market.
