Vivendi Games subsidiary Sierra Entertainment has signed a development agreement with California-based Call Of Duty: Finest Hour developer Spark Unlimited to create a next-generation console action title for unspecified platforms. Sierra Entertainment commented that it will work with Spark Unlimited on the project, which is expected to ship in 2007, and that more information about the title will be released later in 2006. Spark Unlimited is best known as a developer of first-person action games for consoles, most recently Call of Duty: Finest Hour, which shipped in 2004 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube. However, unlike that title, the company notes that its new next-generation project will feature a “modern setting.” "We couldn't be more excited about the opportunity to work with Vivendi Games and Sierra Entertainment. We share a common creative vision for this upcoming project, but even more importantly, a desire to deliver a truly unique and incredible game experience," said Craig Allen, CEO, Spark Unlimited. He continued: "Together with Sierra Entertainment and through the creation of an all-new intellectual property, we are able to showcase our award-winning game design on the next-generation consoles."
