The 32nd SIGGRAPH International Conference on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques conference has announced further details of its conference track, notably a special session relating to video game input devices and a previously heralded keynote address. The conference will be held from July 31st to August 4th at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This year will include a session, from 6:00 to 8:00pm on August 1st, called "Jump! Shout! Dance! Sing! An Interactive Conversation About Games, Game Art, and Play That Goes Way Beyond the Joystick." The panel will look into new ways of controlling games that involve parts of the body other than the thumbs, particularly music games and Sony's EyeToy. EyeToy hardware creator Richard Marks will be on the panel, as well as Greg LoPiccolo from Harmonix (Karaoke Revolution), Michael McHale from Konami (Dance Dance Revolution, Beatmania), Fred Swan from Logitech, and Henry LaBounta from Electronic Arts Canada. The keynote address for the conference will come from Star Wars creator George Lucas, titled "A Keynote Q&A With the Father of Digital Cinema." The keynote, moderated by Bruce Carse, will take place from 1:15 to 3:15pm on August 1st. SIGGRAPH 2005 hopes to bring more than 25,000 computer graphics and interactive professionals from around the world to the city for the 5-day conference and 3-day exhibition. More information is available at the official SIGGRAPH 2005 website.
